Skippy Keefer Relays, Charlie Beck Invitational This Weekend

Local athletes staying very busy with all kinds of competition heading into Easter weekend.

If the weather holds, and it should, this should be a very busy week for the local athletes this Easter weekend.

The big events are two gigantic weekend invitational track meets. That would be the Skippy Keefer Relays at John Burroughs Saturday as well as the Charlie Beck Invitational at University City. Both meets begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with preliminaries, and finals kick off at 1 p.m. at both locations.

But first things first.

Thursday, there’s a Rams showdown in Ladue. The Ladue Rams baseball team will host MICDS on their West Campus field at 4:15 p.m. These are two projected playoff caliber squads.

In lacrosse, the MICDS boys will perform under the lights at CBC, starting time 7:30 p.m.

Here are the key girls soccer games Thursday: MICDS at Lutheran South at 4 p.m.; Ladue at Westminster Christian at 4:15 p.m. and O’Fallon Christian at John Burroughs at 4:15 p.m.

Also on Thursday, MICDS will host a throwers meet (shot put and discus) for both boys and girls starting at their sports complex at 4 p.m.

In water polo, Kirkwood travels to John Burroughs for a 5 p.m. match.

On Friday, Midland baseball visits Ladue at 4:15 p.m. In girls lacrosse, Kirkwood is at Ladue at 4 p.m. and Parkway West goes to MICDS, also at 4:15.

On Saturday, in addition to the two big track meets, Burroughs will play a baseball double header at Principia at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and in water polo, Kirkwood visits MICDS starting at 11 a.m.

There is plenty to see and do as spring time busts out all over Ladue and nearby competitive locations.
