Registration Still Available for the St. Joseph's Academy Celebration at Sunset Country Club

Money raised helps students in need; boost for alumni association and athletic department.

There is still time to get in on the day of fun Celebration at Sunset, hosted by St. Joseph's Academy.

The day-long events are being held once again at Sunset Hills Country Club on Monday, September 12. This includes competition in golf, tennis, cards, plus a lunch and dinner.

The highpoint of the gala will likely play out sometime around noon. Sr. Pat Dunphy, school principal will drop a bucket of balls from high a loft in lift provided Courtesy of Midwest Aerials.

The ball closest to the hole wins half of the proceeds in the pot at the time of the drop. Tickets are selling for $20 for one ball and three balls for $50.

The Sr. Mary de Paul golf tournament gets underway with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

The SJA Fathers' Club & Community golf tournament begins at 12:30 p.m., also with a shotgun start.

At the same time, there will be a card party and a tennis tournament. Lunch will be served at noon, and the evening festivities include a cocktail party, oral auction, awards and dinner with everything getting underway at 5:30 p.m.

The funds raised are very important. Scholarship money is given out to any of the students at St. Joe who have lost a primary tuition-paying parent while attending the school in Frontenac under the auspices of the Parents' Scholarship Fund.
