MICDS senior Reed Whitney has dreamed a very long time about going to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.
He is going to fulfill that dream. He just received a letter of acceptance from the squash coach at the Acdemy Draig Dawson. This is the earliest one of our athletes has even been accepted," said Dawson.
"Reed is a blue chip recruit for our class of 2017. Having Reed accept early will certainly help this year's recruiting effort," said the coach.
Whitney was the subject of an interview last year on the Ladue-Frontenac Patch.
The Naval Academy invests more than $1 million dollars with each of their plebes and he will be required to serve on active duty with the U.S. Navy upon graduation. Graduates of Annapolis are commissioned as Ensigns in the U.S. Navy.
