Shimmer in the Night; Regal Elegance for Ladue's Prom Angels

Prom dresses couldn't look more beautiful on any other models.

Ladue High School Juniors and members of the soccer team, Davis Norber, Morgan Moore and Abby Shapiro were recently chosen to model prom dresses for Patch for a special prom dress feature. Their task? Select dress styles from Saks Fifth Avenue that they believe girls at Ladue High School will wear Saturday night to the prom, then model them for an exclusive photo shoot. They posed like professionals and the final images were amazing.

All of the girls had previously purchased their dresses for the prom Saturday night prior to the photo shoot, but all of them found a new favorite dress they wished they could wear to the prom. That’s what happens when everything you put on looks absolutely stunning. The photo gallery is proof of that.

Ladue High School prom, with a pop art theme, will be held Saturday night at Windows off Washington. An after party will be at Chesterfield Sports Fusion with plenty of arcade games, laser tag, mini golf, D.J. and dancing. There will be plenty of food and soft drinks for the evening.

Davis, Morgan and Abby discussed what they will wear to the Ladue Prom.

“The theme this year is pop art. As far as dresses that will be worn Saturday night? Anything goes. There will be some crazy prints. Simple and elegant are always good though,” said Moore. “Sparkle, glitter and shimmer are my favorites.”

Moore will wear a long strapless dress made from shimmery, gold fabric. The skirt is pleated and the bodice is accented with a rose on the left side. She will have her hair done in an updo. Earings that dangle straight down will complete her look. It sounds beautiful and sophisticated.

“I prefer solids over prints,” said Norber. She will wear a floor-length, periwinkle blue, strapless dress. “It looks like a Cinderella dress. It has see through fabric that is flowing and it is satin underneath,” said Norber. “I’m wearing my hair up.” She will carry a clutch purse and wear hoop earings.

Shapiro said, “I like bright colors and prints” like the dresses she wore for the shoot. For prom, she will wear a full-length, stapless, navy dress with a mermaid wave throughout the bottom. She will wear her hair in a low ponytail to the side. Gold earings and one big, gold, flower ring will take her prom look over-the-top.

"I think that simple is beautiful and this year I really like the large variety of long dresses," said Shapiro.
