Police Have Identified the 17-year-old from Ladue High Over Laser Incident at Busch

Eric Bogard, a student at Ladue High who lives in Creve Coeur.

The St. Louis Police Department has issued warrants against 17-year-old Eric Bogard of the 14 block of Sherwyn Lane in Creve Coeur.

Sherwyn was alleged to have pointed a laser at a San Francisco Giants pitcher Tuesday night at Busch Stadium. Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny identified the culprit who tried to dispose of the laser and run from authorities.

He was captured by security guards and Matheny identified him in the security area of the stadium. Subsequently, he was taken to jail, booked and held over until being released at 1:20 a.m. on  $150 bond. He know has a court appearance set for later charged with peace disturbance at a sporting event.

He and other teens were guests in a private suite, hosted by Mercy Health Systems.

Mercy is not identifying the host, saying it is a private personnel matter at this point.

Once we fully understand the facts, we will take the appropriate steps to ensure that this kind of incident cannot happen again.
