Here's what's happening in and near Ladue, Clayton and University City.

  • On Tuesday, the will host Truman State University admissions counselor Beth Clausing in the College & Career Office. If you’re interested in attending, you’ll need to sign up at Family Connection. For more details, visit the Ladue School District calendar
  • In University City, the will launch its Valentine’s Day Trunk Show. The show will run from Tuesday until Valentine’s Day and will feature local artist Lisa Colby, who will be sculpting fine sterling silver. Also featured will be the ethereal gold knit jewelry of Susan Freda and a semi-annual clearance sale offering deep discounts on select jewelry, glass, clay, holiday ornaments, fiber and home accessories. Friday, Feb. 3.

  • Ladue-area students are sure to be dancing on Friday. and students will have the day off—but the offices will be open for a faculty professional day.  And sophomores will enjoy their Sophomore Dance in the SJA gym.
  • If you’re in Clayton on Friday and feeling artsy, consider stopping by the to take in the , which explores how people experience and create environments through soite and sound.  For more details, visit the St. Louis Artists’ Guild website.
  • Do you need a new best friend? Head over to University City on Friday for the . The presentation will focus on how pet adoption works, choosing the right pet, costs and responsibilities of pet ownership and why adopting a pet “is the kind choice.” The University City Public library is hosting the event, which begins at noon. Saturday, Feb. 4.

  • If you’re feeling adventurous on Saturday, head to the on the Delmar Loop in U. City to see the Untamed exhibit, created by artists who are “exploring the essence of animals, their soul, spirit or symbolic personification; others explore their fragile existence in the contemporary natural world.” For details, visit the Craft Alliance website.
  • If the cold-weather blues have got you down, you might want to check out the at on Saturday. The market is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and we’re told that you’ll find the products you’ve enjoyed all season. For more information, visit the City of Clayton’s website.
  • The Proshop will be open at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Mothers’ Club-sponsored shop sells SJA-gear and is usually closed on Saturdays.
