MVP Week No. 1: Let the Voting Begin

The ballot box is open until 5 p.m. Thursday for the first 'Athlete of the Week.'

Vote for your favorite athlete in Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette.

Yes, make sure and vote for your favorite. Call your friends, aunts, uncles, dogs,cats, teachers, preachers, anyone.

No voter ID card is necessary for this week by week contest. The voting will be cut off promptly at 5 p.m. Thursday. Then, the winner will be profiled Saturday or Sunday on your local Patches.

If your favorite athlete doesn't win this week, they can win it all next week. You can nominate anyone for this honor, and the same goes for all the local coaches.

Jack Kurzu, lineman, MICDS, top guard in Missouri by several recruiting services. Signed with Oklahoma State.

Cam Newton, Ladue tennis, 2010 state doubles champ and third in singles in 2011.

Alyssa Jensen, St. Joe volleyball, Player of the Year in Missouri and signed with Cal-Berkeley.

Kevin Steinhouse, John Burroughs swimming, made the state cut already in three events this season.
