MVP, Week 2: The Call Goes Out for Nominees

Local teams slogged through a weekend of rain-soaked conditions.

Time to step off for the Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette MVP for week 2.

Here are some athletes who are worthy of recognition:

  • Zeke Elliott, senior running back, John Burroughs: 4 TD’s in a romp over Lutheran South, 35-0. Has 8 TDs in two games.
  • Brittany Green, Villa Duchesne Tennis: Metro League tournament singles champ and third place in doubles.
  • Shawn Whitley, Ladue running back. Two TDs in 41-7 road win over Parkway West including running one for 80 yards.
  • Emily Kellerhals, Villa Duchesne volleyball. Plays the Libero, showed great defense in two set win over MICDS.
  • Reid Cytron, Ladue soccer. Drilled the game winner in a 2-1 overtime win over Westminster Christian to win the MICDS tournament.
  • Angeline Veronikis, tennis, MICDS. Second in the Metro tourney and on the winning doubles team.
  • Mary Condie, MICDS field hockey. One of the leading area scorers with 4 goals, 3 assists for 11 points.

Time to expand the list more in order to to make up Wednesday’s ballot. All nominations must be made by the end of the day Tuesday. Balloting starts Wednesday, and ends Thursday, promptly at 5 o'clock. The winner of week No. 2 will be recognized this coming weekend.
