MVP Week 1: Alyssa Jensen, St. Joe Volleyball

She won in a spirited battle over tennis star Cam Newton of Ladue.

Congratulations to Alyssa Jensen, senior volleyball all star performer as the first Ladue-Frontenac-Olivette MVP of the Week.

She plays for St. Joseph’s Academy and the Angels will be one of the strongest contenders this season.

Where she will be going to school next year:

Jensen has already agreed to play for the Bears of Cal-Berkeley next fall.

What she has to say about being on this team:

Jensen thinks the Angels will have a very strong season. “I have great teammates and we all have high expectations for ourself and each other to have a very successful season.

The girls I am surrounded by are all very talented and determined. We will push each other every day to make each other better and I couldn’t ask for more.”

Honors:

Jensen was named Lion’s Choice Athlete of the Game by Prepcasts broadcast in the match recently with Lafayette to open the season. She was last year’s Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year from Missouri.
