Monday is a Big Day for Local Sports Teams

Ladue clashes with Parkway North in baseball; all the local girls lacrosse teams take to the fields.

The rains need to clear out of the area and the fields need to dry up. We are heading into the month of May and the last month of high school competition.

Teams still need tune ups for the playoffs, just around the corner. Here's what the locals are doing Monday:

Baseball

Ladue (15-2) at Parkway North (15-3)

This 4:15 game on the Vikings campus takes on significant meaning. Both teams are playing exceedingly well this season. While Lex Kaplan has been ripping the cover off the ball, Rob Ewald has been limiting opposing batters.

Daniel Brodksy is hitting .475 for North. Something has to give.

Girls lacrosse

MICDS (8-3) goes to Eureka

Villa Duchesne (3-9) pays a visit to S. Joe (11-3)

Burroughs (8-0) is at Lafayette

Ladue (6-5) is at Nerinx Hall

The Katie girls, Katie Karl and Katie Prosperi are leading the St. Joe attack. Karl has 69 points and Prosperi 59.

Girls Soccer

St. Joe (10-2) is at Ursuline Academy at 4 p.m.

O'Fallon Christian visits MICDS (11-1).

Kaley Nieters, 8 goals and 22 points and Haley Kavenaugh 9 goals and 24 points lead the St. Joe offense.

Klasey Medelberg, attacker has 10 goals and 27 points for MICDS. the Rams win streak ended in the rain Saturday, losing at Nerinx Hall, 4-1.

Boys tennis

Burroughs at MICDS. Always a great rivalry, Michael Peters, rangy sophomore at Burroughs is one of the best around.
