Late Surge Sends MICDS Girls to Championship of Own Tourney

Rans win by 20 over Parkway Central. Westminster is the opponent in the title game for second-consecutive year.

MICDS used a 16-0 run over the first 5:54 of the fourth period to break open a close game and to earn a 71-51 victory over Parkway Central and click their ticket to the tournament final for the second consecutive year.

The Rams rode the 16 point scoring effort of Josie Cusworth while Rachel Thompson tossed in 14 for MICDS. The Rams will get another shot at top-seeded Westminster in a rematch of last year’s tournament championship on Saturday night at 6 p.m.

Christie Bergesch put in 16 points with Zoe Wallis adding 11 on the night for the Colts who will take on Oakville in the third-place game on Saturday at 3 p.m.
