Ladue Schools: Student Transfers Won't Have 'Significant Impact'

The district said by Monday it would provide complete information on how many students from Riverview Gardens and Normandy end up in Ladue.

The Ladue School district announced Thursday that it will know by Monday how many students it will be taking in from the unaccredited Riverview Gardens and Normandy School districts, and where those students will be placed.

The district will post that information online no later than the close of business Monday, officials said in an email blast to community stakeholders.

Ladue administrators will join their counterparts from around the area Friday at a meeting at the Cooperating School Districts office just outside Creve Coeur, where each district will learn where those students will be placed.

According to the latest information available, 54 Normandy students and 20 Riverview Gardens students have requested a transfer to Ladue. Based on the most recent data, the largest single grade impacted would be third grade, by a total of 9 students.

"Despite the extensive media coverage, the Ladue School District does not anticipate this process will have any significant impact on the ability to continue to provide all of our students with a high quality educational experience," the district said Thursday in a statement. "We look forward to welcoming our new transfer students, along with all our students, on August 14, 2013, and to a successful 2013-14 school year."
