Ladue School Board Continues to Discuss District-Wide Security Measures

The major discussion item on Monday night's workshop agenda.

Monday night, at the regular monthly work shop at 6 o'clock, the Ladue School Board will continue its on-going discussion of security measures already in place in the district.

Ladue has been an active participant in security measures long before school shootings and other incidents have occurred around the country.

Jason Buckner, assistant superintendent for business development and chief financial officer has been leading the discussion in this key area.

He said: “The prevention, response, and recovery efforts are being analyzed extensively.

The Board of Education continues to discuss improved measures to involve the community, as well as, outside entities in coordination with district safety efforts.”

Safety Measures Overview

  • All district policies related to safety were reviewed by the Missouri School Boards Association and district legal counsel, and re-­‐adopted prior to the 2012-­‐13 school year. 
  • Local, State, Federal and International Codes apply to all public school districts. 
  • Safety Handbooks are reviewed and updated annually Communication, Awareness and Preparedness 
  • Crisis Planning 
  • Regular Safety Meetings 
  • Technology
    o Two-­‐Way Radios (125 throughout the district)
    o Weather Radios in All Buildings
    o Administrator Cell Phones with Text Groups
