Ladue Puts Appeal Process for Performance Report Into Motion

District likely to get 14of 14 performance reports once accounting error is corrected.

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has released preliminary Annual Performance Report data, showing the Ladue School District receiving 13 out of a possible 14 performance points.

Districts have the next few weeks to request revisions based on discrepancies, and the Ladue School District has already submitted a correction likely to bring Ladue Schools' score up to 14, officials said.

Dr. Joan Oakley, Assistant Superintendent for Educational Leadership/ School Services said there was a discrepancy in the reporting. Ladue was listed as meeting 13 of the 14 MSIP-4 Standards.

"In our core data reporting to DESE, the calculation was based on numbers that showed only 18 students taking career education courses, which was incorrect, as we had 100 students taking those courses.  We have resubmitted the information to DESE to correct the error, which should result in Ladue meeting all 14 of the standards," said Dr. Oakley.

The district's data has been resubmitted and the next step will be for the state to recalculate the district's score.

DESE will post final data on Dec. 16. For districts serving grades kindergarten through 12th, 14 standards cover measures such as test scores (ACT, state-required MAP and end-of-course tests), attendance, graduation rates and other academic indicators.
