Ladue Offers One-Time Incentive to Retire Early

Plans must be indicated by January 4, 2013 for this one-time incentive.

The Ladue School District will offer a one-time $25,000 incentive to eligible teachers who make plans to retire early after the 2012-13 school year. This was reported earlier on the website StL Today.

The criteria includes at least 10 years with the school district. Although administrators do not know how many teachers might consider the incentive, the district could save more than $2 million in salaries under one scenario.

The School Board unanimously approved the measure at the regular school board meeting last week. The plan was developed by a task force during the last school year.

Employees must notify the district of their interest by Jan. 4, 2013 for the up-coming school year if they plan to retire early.
