Ladue & Clayton Patches Host Prep Baseball Game

The Clayton at Ladue Showdown Turns Into a Benefit for Ronald McDonald Charities.

On April 20, the Ladue-Frontenac Patch and the Clayton-Richmond Heights Patch hosted the Clayton at Ladue baseball game. A night of stormy activity cleared just in time for a sunny and clear day and fans and players alike enjoyed the non-stop action.

One of the highlights of the game was the first pitch thrown out by Ronald McDonald. The game was a fundraiser in part for Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis. Raffle items were given between innings and Noodles  Company gave away product samples to eager students who donated to the charity.

It was a fun day, and Patch personnel made many new friends in the community. The feature of the raffle was a $300 gift certificate from Peek Portraits of Ladue and a child's bicycle coustesy of Ronald McDonald Houses.

The bike went to the five-year-old daughter of Ladue's head coach Rob Garrett.

Incidentally, Ladue won the game 5-0 and it was broadcast live on the Prep Broadcasting Network. Here's a look back to the action on the Rams' home field last Wednesday.
