Ladue And Frontenac Make News In Other Media

From Plaza Frontenac to Ladue athletes, our cities are attracting attention.

For this week’s news roundup, we take a look at the people and events that put Ladue and Frontenac in the news from local coverage to around the country.

A Wall Street Journal article indicates that General Growth is under contract to purchase Plaza Frontenac. The Chicago-based mall owner is pursuing a joint venture opportunity with an institutional investor. The company posted a loss during the second quarter of this year and is emerging from bankruptcy. It is selling off some of its malls.

A story in the Detroit Free Press focused on the recruitment efforts of the University of Michigan’s football coach, who hosted Ladue high school wide receiver Jehu Chesson at an event. Chesson is a member of the Class of 2012 and is apparently being vetted by the Wolverines.

KSDK NewsChannel 5 aired a story about a Ladue teacher who will use social media during this school year to engage students. Don Goble, a blogger for Ladue-Frontenac Patch, is a broadcast, technology and film instructor at the high school.

Former Ladue track star Samantha Levin was profiled in the St. Louis American. She competed in the IAAF Junior Pan-Am Games and won a bronze medal in the 800-meter race.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Deb Peterson wrote about an event coming up at Plaza Frontenac: “Let’s Give Burns the Boot,” a fashion show on Sept. 22 to benefit Missouri Children’s Burn Camp.
