Everything Came Up Smelling Roses Saturday at John Burroughs

Soccer team edged Priory 1-0; football won over Clayton 56-0 and field hockey was a 1-0 winner over Clayton too.

Saturday was a day of satisfying victories for the different Burroughs sports teams. The football team demolished Clayton 56-0. Field hockey won over Clayton 1-0 and the soccer team beat the defending state champs 1-0. All of the wins were on the Bombers campus Saturday.

Joe Renner fired a 30 yard shot that trickled by Priory goal keeper Tristan Helmuth. Otherwise, Helmuth played a sensational game, turning away a number of strong shots.

Up front, the Bombers got strong play from Ty Trezecki, Stephen McMillian and Ryan Keeney. They kept the pressure up in a game, dominated by strong midfield play.
