Ladue resident talks business at UMSL

The information systems world has come a long way in the last 50 years. Navigating through the digital revolution and growing a globally successful company is no small accomplishment, add to that the challenges faced by women in this male dominated field and it becomes an even greater achievement.

Susan S. Elliott, a Ladue resident and founder and chairman of Systems Service Enterprises Inc., will discuss “Across the Divide” at 8 a.m. April 5 in the Student Government Association Chamber in the Millennium Student Center at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

Elliott has chronicled her journey in the business world in her book “Across the Divide: Navigating the Digital Revolution as a Woman, Entrepreneur and CEO.” Through the book and her discussion, she’ll share her experiences as a woman working over the last 50 years in the digital revolution and the challenges she faced in growing a globally successful IT company.

Her book shares anecdotes, insights and tips drawn from her personal experiences as one of the first female programmers at IBM, and later founder of Systems Service Enterprises Inc, a national firm recognized globally for application development, education and network infrastructure work.

Copies of Elliott’s book, “Across the Divide” will be available for purchase.

The discussion is part of the monthly Breakfast & Business Series sponsored by the University of Missouri–St. Louis’ College of Business Administration.
