Dr. Eric Hahn of Ladue, First Peabody Logos Leader in Education This School Year

Teacher recognized for 25 years of dedicated service to students and the district.

Dr. Eric Hahn of Ladue High School was named the first Peabody Logos Leader in Education for the 2011-12 school year, and awarded $1,000 for his compassion and commitment to equality and democracy in education.

As a world history teacher for more than 25 years, Hahn is dedicated to ensuring that all high school students have access to advanced placement (AP) courses, and are prepared for the rigors of advanced curriculum.

Hahn is also truly dedicated to equality in education. Realizing that African American students remained underrepresented in AP courses, he was instrumental in creating a new program called “Students Taking Rigorous Instruction Developing Exceptionally” or “STRIDE,” and in its first year the program was responsible for doubling the number of African American students enrolled in sophomore AP history courses.
