Austin DaGue, Ladue Basketball: Week No. 11 MVP

Three-year starter off to Emory University in the fall.

DaGue was second in scoring for Ladue with almost 12 points a game and did all the little invaluable things that led the Rams to a brilliant 21-6 record. Only a loss to Chaminade in the district finals on their home floor prevented the season from continuing.

Here's what DaGue told Patch:

Austin DaGue: I am studying business and playing basketball at Emory University next fall. I can’t wait to be an Eagle.

Patch: How did your season go altogether?

AD: I thought my season went well. We won 21 games, and we had a big win over CBC in the D.C. Wilcutt Tournament Championship. I really enjoyed playing with and getting to know all the guys on the team.

AD: I really enjoy hanging out with all the guys off the court. We have good team chemistry. It really was a fun season.

Patch: Comment on any special accomplishments this season.

AD: We won the Suburban East Conference Championship for the second straight year. We also beat CBC to win the D.C. Wilcutt Tournament Championship.

Although we did not reach our goal of winning our district, we lost to a very good team in Chaminade and they deserve all the credit.

Patch: Which athlete do you admire the most, and why?

AD: I really admire Indiana University Sophomore Center Cody Zeller. He is a great player, he has a good work ethic, and he is humble.

Patch: What is your favorite tune in your iPod these days?

AD: My favorite song is No Hurry by Zac Brown Band. I love country music, especially Zac Brown Band.
