Anita Reznicek Selected as New President of St. Joseph's Academy

Joining All-Girls College Prep School from St. Teresa's Academy in Kansas City.

Anita Reznicek has been selected as president of St. Joseph’s Academy (SJA), a Roman Catholic college preparatory high school for young women in Frontenac.  sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet (CSJ). Reznicek will join SJA after 23 years of teaching, leadership and mission service at St. Teresa’s Academy in Kansas City, Mo., another CSJ all-girls college prep high school.

Reznicek will succeed the retiring president, Sr. Michaela Zahner, CSJ, who has served as SJA president since 2004.  Reznicek was selected after an extensive national search.  Her new appointment begins July 1.

Reznicek, who also has been a lecturer and teaching fellow at University of Kansas, University of Missouri-Kansas City and Avila College, is a noted authority on single-gender education for girls.  She is co-author of a school-selection guide for parents, Educating Our Daughters, and is a doctoral candidate in religious studies and history at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  The Iowa native earned her master’s degree in religious studies at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and her bachelor’s degree in theology and psychology at St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa.
