Dr. Jason Buckner briefs the board about the construction progress.

The new 5th grade center, to open this August on the new West Ladue campus is on schedule for completion and all renovation costs are under budget according to Dr. Jason  Buckner, Ladue's assistant superintendent for business and finance.

He expects more detailed reporting at the June board meeting.

All of the improvements to the center are paid for out of Prop "O" funds as promised to the tax payers.

Dr. Buckner expects only $25,000 to $50,000 be left over after all the bills are paid. The district is yet to purchase some $200,000 of furniture for the school.

"We're right on budget, we promised the tax payers," he noted.

The district was able to do this and complete the Ladue Early Childhood Center on the 30-acre site on Ladue Road, west of Spoede Road.

"This new center will relieve much of the pressure (overcrowding) at our elementary schools," he said.

In other business, the board voted 7-0 to keep rates the same for the 2013-14 BASK/TAS programs at the district schools involved.
