Villa Duchesne Junior Wins Regional Essay Contest

Villa Duchesne's Kayla Simon is recognized by the Fleet Reserve Association.

Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School’s Kayla Simon was recognized in May by the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) for her essay, “What My Vote Will Mean to Me.” She placed first among high school juniors in the bi-state area and second in the 14-state North Central region. Veterans from Branch 267 of Greater St. Louis presented Kayla with a plaque and $150 for her winning essay. FRA is a congressionally chartered, non-profit organization representing current and former enlisted personnel of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
