Piccione Pastry Now Open!

Piccione Pastry now open

It’s official! Our Italian pastry shop, Piccione Pastry, is now open in the Loop at the corner of Delmar Boulevard and Skinker. After two years in the “baking” we’re excited to launch our new project.  Everything about Piccione Pastry, pronounced “pa-cho-nee,” is personal for my family, and we can’t wait to share this new venture with St. Louis.

Piccione Pastry, named after my grandmother, Grace Viviano Piccione, specializes in single-serve Italian treats. Our signature items include nine varieties of cannolis in addition to pasticiotti, bomboloni and cannoli “chips and dip.” Other classic Italian delights include tiramisu, ricotta cheesecake, cassata cake (a liqueur-soaked sponge cake layered with fruit and Piccione cream), and an assortment of authentic cookies and candies that will delight patrons. Piccione will also serve savory items including focaccia sticks flavored with herbs and olive oil, asiago, red pepper and prosciutto. The menu has been designed with sugar-free and gluten-free items to please all of our guests. Our pastry chefs create recipes from scratch, bake in small batches, and use the highest quality ingredients for their desserts. Piccione Pastry will also serve Lavazza coffee and authentic Italian soda.

We decided to build Piccione Pastry in the Loop as a tribute to my grandmother, who owned the Varsity Theater on Delmar Boulevard. And, the original Butler’s Pantry, owned and operated by my father and mother, opened on Delmar in 1966. Everything just seemed to fit together perfectly for this project.

Please stop by and taste our homemade creations and meet our culinary team. Executive Pastry Chef Martin Lopez will be whipping up new, special delicacies each week. We’re open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, until 11:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and closed on Monday. Since we’re open late, Piccione Pastry is the perfect date spot or late-night snack.

We look forward to meeting you and serving our sweet-toothed St. Louis friends!
