Road Rebuild Delmar, Price to Trinity in University City

A $2.1 million project of the St. Louis County Road Department.

The road from Price Road in Ladue and Olivette on Delmar all the way to Trinity Avenue in the heart of University City is being rebuilt through a $2.1 million project of the St. Louis County's Department of Highways and Traffic.

According to spokesman David Wrone this project will continue through the winter, weather permitting with a completion date of July, 2012.

This project was long overdue, with some of the roadway in major disrepair.

The work will be done by Pace Construction Co., local road builders.

The work includes replacing damaged concrete slabs, putting in new curbs and guttering and constructing new sidewalks complying with ADA guidelines.

Once all of the side projects are complete, an asphalt overlay will cover the well worn strip that cuts through a sliver of Olivette and into the heart of University City. The roadway will match up to the completed rebuild of the bridge and right of way at Delmar and I-170. The project will cover some three miles in length.

"If we move cars off the street at any point, we will leave door signs to give warning well in advance," said Wrone.
