Monday, Jan. 2. Happy New Year! Since New Year’s Day fell on a Sunday this year, Monday is the official federal holiday. Most government offices, banks and post offices will be closed. Since you won’t be waiting on the mail, why not do a little good in the world? Head over to and donate your gently used clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes and home décor accessories. Tuesday, Jan. 3. Area students who attend , and head back to school on Tuesday. If your kids won’t head back to school until Wednesday, you might like to take them to week’s “Tuesday Morning Storytime with Trish” at Barnes & Noble. Wednesday, Jan. 4. Winter break is over for , St. Josesph’s Academy and students on Wednesday. The Ladue District jumps back in with a meeting of the Strings Club at Spoede Elementary at 7:45 a.m. and a Diversity Committee Meeting at the Administrative Center at 4 p.m., while St. Joseph’s will hold a Father’s Club Meeting at 6 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 5. Is your Ladue 10th grader on the college track? Head to the Performing Arts Center on Thursday for a meeting with college advisors Ken Fox and Scott Cornwell, who will discuss standardized testing, the results and what they mean. Friday, Jan. 6. Have you always wanted to dig into your ancestry? If so, you might want to check out the Introduction to Ancestry Database class at the on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. Students will be taught how to find their ancestors using AncestryLibraryEdition.com, including learning to search census, immigration, military and death records.
