Olivette On the Go Festival Features Two Community Races

Family Fun Run; 5K with $150 prize money on the line.

The City of Olivette announces that registration is now open for both races taking place on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the community festival, “Olivette on the Go.” Sponsored by Murphy Company and New Balance, the first ever 5K and less intense “Fun Run” takes participants through the streets of Olivette.

The 5K begins at 8 a.m. on the corner of Lindley and Mansfield Drive. Designed to be perfect for families and children, the “Fun Run” begins at 9:30 a.m. and is a short run, or walk, through the subdivision of Oak Estates.

Those competing in the 5K will get a shot at the $150 grand prize. “Given the large amount of joggers we see in the city, I wouldn’t be surprised to have at least 300 participants in this race,” says Doug Cohen, chairman and organizer of the 5K run.

”This is truly a community event because we encourage runners from all skill levels to compete – no one needs to feel left out.”

Community members are encouraged to volunteer and engage with the city throughout the planning process. Join the conversation on the “Olivette on the Go” Facebook page and receive event updates as the festival draws near.

“We ask people from all over the St. Louis area to come and enjoy the fun, and check out ‘Olivette on the Go’ after the race,” says Cohen.
