Olivette Mayor Involved in Motor Cycle Accident

Accident Occurred Sept. 4 on Highway 61 in Wentzville.

Olivette Mayor Jean Antoine and his wife Suzanne were involved in a one-vehicle motor cycle accident on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 10:30 a.m.

"It was a freakish thing. The train belt on the bike just snapped and we crashed. All of the good training kicked in immediately. I knew what to do, and to avoid the guard rail that we could have crashed over," said Antoine.

Good samaritans stopped to help out and Suzanne was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital at Lake St. Louis. She was treated for three broken ribs and a broken scapula. "She may require more treatment and we are seeing our surgeon," said the mayor.
