Ladue Attorney Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement

46-Year-Old Steven Gartenberg Pleads Guilty to Five Counts of Stealing From Clients.

According to a report on KSDK-TV, 46-year-old Ladue attorney Steven Goldenberg pleaded guilty to embezzling client funds from two estates and family trusts. This was reported by U.S. Attorney Richard Callahan.

According to court documents, between September 2006 and July 2009, it was reported that Gartenberg diverted $344,000 in funds from five clients to reinvest in his own law firm and for his personal account.

Gartenberg pleaded guilty to two felony counts of mail fraud also.

Gartenberg faces up to 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000 on each count when he faces sentencing on September 2.
