Incumbents File for Open Seats in Ladue, Frontenac and Olivette

Former City Manager Mike Schoedel files for board of aldermen seat in Frontenac.

The local election in the City of Frontenac took an interesting turn yesterday. Mike Schoedel, former City Manager of the cities of Clayton, Richmond Heights and Frontenac has filed for a seat in Ward 1 in the board of alderman’s race. This will be his first try for public office.

He will run for the seat which might be vacated by John Wynne who as indicated to several people that he will not run in this April’s election. That determination is not official yet. Schoedel left lengthy public service to work for Apex Oil in Clayton.

Margot Martin, Ward 2 and Tom Hizar, Ward 3 both refiled for office on the first day possible in Frontenac.

In the City of Ladue, Charles Himenz, Ward 1 and Walter G. Stern, Ward 2 refiled for positions on the city council. Harold Burroughs is expected to refile in Ward 3.

Jean Antoine, mayor of the City of Olivette refiled for an at-large position on the city council. Antoine is presently the mayor of Olivette. Olivette has five council members and this April, only one position is open. Filing in Olivette closes at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 3.

There are no mayoral races in either Ladue or Frontenac. The mayor of Olivette is selected by members of the city council.
