Frontenac Swears in Mayor, Council Members

Tom O'Brien welcomed to the Board of Aldermen.

Tuesday night was one of pomp and ceremony in Frontenac. With the April 2 election certified, Mayor Keith Krieg took the oath once more as mayor of the city. At the same time, John O'Connell and Bud Guest were sworn in again, and Tom O'Brien became a new member, representing Ward III.

O'Brien defeated 8-year-veteran John Levis who was not in attendance at the meeting.

Members praised their departing fellow member.

"John (Levis) was a vocal and active member and contributed a great deal over eight years," said Mayor Krieg. Krieg mentioned that Levis' famous quote "Using an elephant gun to kill a flea" will however likely be retired.

Council member Tom Hizar too thanked Levis for his dedicated service to the city.
