Frontenac Reports Resident Seeing Coyote in Yard

The city warns residents keep garbage and pet food inside as much as possible.

An alert from the city of Frontenac warned residents this week to be careful about leaving garbage and pet food outside. Why? A Frontenac Estates resident reported seeing a coyote in a yard last week.

"The Missouri Department of Conservation warns residents to not leave any small pets unattended and to not leave pet food or garbage outside," the city update noted. "Coyotes are also attracted to brush piles. The coyotes are typically afraid of humans and loud noises such as banging pots."
