Excessive Heat Warning In Ladue and Frontenac Extended To Saturday

Elderly, the young urged to take extra precaution in the high heat, humidity.

According to Fox 2 News weather reports, and the National Weather Service, an Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for the St. Louis region until 7:00 pm Saturday evening due to the dangerous combination of heat and humidity. Afternoon highs will be near 100° with heat index values between 105° and 115°.

High heat and humidity can threaten public health especially the very young, the elderly, and those with chronic health problems. Be sure to take extra precautions if you work outside and, when possible, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or late evening. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.

Ladue's Police Chief Rich Wooten says the community is well prepared. "Fortunately for us, everyone has air conditioning, and the elderly have care givers or family members to keep a close watch," he said.

Those who seek help should contact Ladue's police at 314-993-1214 or Frontenac police at 314-994-9300.
