The City of Ladue recently appointed Anne Lamitola as Director of Public Works. Lamitola replaces Dennis Bible who retired after more than 40 years of service, first in the fire department in Ladue.
The transition took place the end of November when Bible officially retired on November 23. Her first official date on the job was November 26.
Lamitola was previously the Public Works Director for the City of Sunset Hills. She is a licensed engineer in the state of Missouri and is a graduate of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri S&T).
Lamitola was with Sunset Hills for 5 1/2 years and previously worked in the public works department for the City of St. Louis.
She will supervise 16 full time employees of which 3 plan to retire soon.
She will supervise the maintenance of Ladue’s 23 miles of roads. Additionally, the public works director directs the leaf raking and mulching program; the beautification of the city; and other capital improvement projects.
Ladue is busy adding sidewalks throughout the community. Sidewalks are going up along Warson Road in front of Mary Institute-Country Day School; along Ladue Road and on Price Road. Engineers are drawing up plans to construct sidewalks on McKnight Road where the entire road will be rebuilt with two new bridges this summer. A portion of Litzsinger Road will also be rebuilt soon.
