Three-Alarm Fire Put Out at Wilson School in Clayton

It happened early Thursday in Clayton's DeMun neighborhood. Ladue Fire Department was on the call.

A three-alarm fire happened early Thursday at in .

No one was hurt in the Wilson fire, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported, though a third of the building incurred water damage. The paper also reported that students there are on spring break and that it's not clear whether they will return to school next week.

The Ladue Fire Department and were among those that put out the blaze.

Richmond Heights officials got the call at about 2 a.m., Chief Kerry Hogan said. They left after helping fight the fire at about 6 a.m. The fire happened in the attic, which adjoins with several sides of the school building.

The school recently . Work is to include the conversion of some space into a foreign-language room expansion, a computer classroom and a media room. It wasn't immediately clear whether the fire will change the construction schedule.
