According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Ladue police have arrested one woman and are searching for a second male suspect in connection to car break-ins and thefts last month on the parking lot of Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School.

The article states that purses, smartphones, laptops and iPads valued at about $1,600 were stolen when seven cars were hit by thieves during a June 24 lacrosse match at the school.

Police Chief Rich Wooten said a University City woman had been arrested and released pending charges, the article states. She was reportedly tracked as she used stolen credit, debit and gift cards, then identified by surveillance video. She had some of the stolen goods in her possession, according to the Post article, but authorities are still searching for a man they believe was working with the woman to commit the crimes.

Wooten said although crime has been down in the city over the last 10 to 15 years, more thefts from cars and garages have taken place over the past two or three years, the article states.
