A manicurist stole checks and forged them, stealing $6,090 from a 91-year-old Ladue woman, police said.
Linh Huyen Hansen, 41, of the 4900 block of Parker Avenue in St. Louis, was charged Tuesday with eight counts of forgery.
Ladue Police said the Hansen went frequently to the woman’s house to give her manicures and nail treatments. The woman discovered missing checks and found they had been made payable to Hansen and were cashed at locations in St. Louis County and the city.
Eight checks were cashed between April 16 and June 26. The defendant was videotaped cashing the checks, police said.
The defendant told police she filled out the checks in amounts larger than was authorized by the victim.
Bail was set at $20,000.
