How to Get Rid of Your Old Medicine in Ladue on Saturday

Did you know dumping your old drugs down the toilet is dangerous?

Remember all that out-of-date Tylenol, those expired antibiotics and the 10-year-old package of antihistamine that keeps falling out of your medicine cabinet?

On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Ladue Pharmacy, the Ladue Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will give you the chance to get rid of your unwanted medicines.

Bring your drugs to the pharmacy at 9832 Clayton Road and they'll be disposed of safely, no questions asked.

"So many people are shocked to learn about the damage that is done to our environment when they flush prescription drugs down the toilet or throw them in the garbage," said Rick Williams, owner of the drug store, in a statement about the event. "There is additional risk to their families as well when people retain drugs, with prescription drug abuse at an all-time high in America."
