Update: Sirens keep sounding in Ladue. Be ready to duck and cover. Do not stop at a highway underpass.

Severe thunderstorm warning were issued at about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service reported.

A tornado warning is in effect for Ladue and Frontenac, the National Weather Service reported on its website. A watch is in effect until 9 p.m.

A flood warning also is in effect for the Mississippi River in St. Louis.

A few strong to violent long-track tornadoes are possible throughout the area along with hail larger than golf balls, damaging wind gusts and heavy rain, the Weather Service stated.
