One person sustained minor injuries in a two-car accident Saturday on southbound Interstate 170, a official said. It happened between Delmar Boulevard and Ladue Road.
Officials received a call for help at about 8:40 p.m., Lt. Gary Kreitler said. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and the scene had been cleared by about 10 p.m.
The accident shut down all but the left lane of traffic on southbound I-170 while emergency officials worked the scene. The Ladue and Olivette fire departments responded to the accident, Kreitler said. Police vehicles and tow trucks also provided assistance.
A utility light more than 20 feet tall lit the area.
At least one car appeared to have been totaled. It was facing the wrong direction on the highway, though how it ended up in that position was unclear.
