Ladue High Graduate Passes Away

Rosland Jane Hirschfeld, Class of 1967 dies in University City.

Lynn Deerfield, who played Holly on the soap opera "Guiding light" passed away from undetermined causes last week at her home in University City.

Upon graduating college, Rosland Jane Hirschfeld changed to her stage name as she transitioned to a life in New York City.

She trained professionally with Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep and performed in the soap box opera in the 1970s.

She was the youngest of three children, born to Madelienne Moscowitz and antiques dealer Richard Hirschfeld.

She starred in musical productions at Ladue High and was a gifted pianist.

In 1975, Ms. Deerfield married Bill Beutel, the late ABC news anchor. After they divorced, she married Michael Kelly who preceded her in death.

Survivors include three brothers, Mark Hirchfeld of Ladue, Michael Hirschfeld of University City and David Carter of University City and a sister, Joan Johnson of Glendale.

Burial was private.
