St. Louis County Library Goes Mobile
Download the new St. Louis County Library app and access a world of information through your phone!
St. Louis County Library unveiled a new mobile app this week. SLCL Mobile works on all smartphones, including Android, iPhone and Blackberry. The app is free and available in the iTunes store and Android Market. A direct link to the app can be found here: http://www.slcl.org/using-the-library/slcl_mobile
SLCL Mobile boasts several features and provides real time information for customers. Users will be able to log in to their library accounts, renew items, search the catalog and place requests. Using the smartphone’s GPS, SLCL Mobile allows users to locate the branch closest to them and get directions or view maps.

- Event feeds—view and register for events based on age group, date or type
- eMedia downloads directly to your smartphone or tablet
- Booklook—scan a book barcode and see if it’s in the library’s catalog
- Databases—access select databases including Novelist, World Book and WorldCat
SLCL Mobile will also offer a new text messaging service. Customers will be able to text questions to reference librarians. The service can be reached by texting to 314-649-SLCL (7525) and is available Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Standard text message rates may apply.
