Celebrate National Library Week at St. Louis County Library

Celebrate National Library Week starting Monday, April 9, at St. Louis County Library. A variety of fun programs and events will be offered all week long.

National Library Week kicks off on April 9th, and St. Louis County Library will celebrate with a variety of fun events! Special tours and programs will be held at multiple branches, check the events calendar for a happening near you.

Monday, April 9th will mark the beginning of Food for Fines, a week-long event that allows customers to pay down their library fines by donating canned goods. For each item donated, the library will remove $1 of library fines (up to $10). At the end of the week, the items will be donated to Operation Food Search. Last year, the library collected 33,090 pounds of food during the program!

The start of National Library Week will also see the launch of the library's 14 in ’12 Campaign. Last year SLCL circulated more items than any other library in Missouri. This year we want to beat that record. Help us reach 14 in ’12 (14 million items in 2012). Stop by your local branch and ask the staff how you can get involved, or follow the library on Facebook and Twitter for more info.
