Celebrate Black History Month at the St. Louis County Library

The St. Louis County Library will host a variety of programs throughout January and February celebrating Black History Month.

The St. Louis County Library has an exciting line-up of programs for Black History Month. The theme for this year's programming is: Educating our Hearts and Minds. Branches throughout the library system will host programs and activities for all ages.

Actress Lynn Whitfield, best known for her title role in "The Josephine Baker Story," will kick-off the Black History Month celebration on Friday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

Other highlights include an event with NAACP Image Award winner Shane Evans, a performance by the Black Rep, a visit from children’s author Kadir Nelson, a gospel celebration, dance performances, storytelling and more. All events are free and open to the public.
