Focus on Moving Forward

Moving toward Game 6!

Instead of dwelling on Tony LaRussa’s malfunctioning call to the bullpen in Game 5 of the World Series, how about the Cardinals take a page from us everyday citizens who successfully move past relational and work problems?  We take our Game 5 life problems and “rear-view mirror” them.  I suggest the Cardinals do that as they get ready to play Game 6 and (hopefully for them) Game 7.

Whether it’s a cover-up, whether the bullpen phone wasn’t working correctly, whether it’s Tony LaRussa’s fault or bullpen coach Derek Lilliquist’s, what does it matter now???

Let’s move on.  Nothing can make the Cardinals losing Game 5 come back.  Nothing they can do or anybody does will change the outcome.  The Cardinals need to focus on what they can control, which is what’s in front of them, Game 6.  Jaime Garcia executing pitches and timely hits off Rangers starter Colby Lewis.  If they focus on executing that, there will be a Game 7 played in St. Louis Thursday night (provided Game 6 isn’t rained out).

Every Cardinal fan five weeks ago would’ve taken being down three games to two in the World Series with the final two being played at Busch Stadium.  So, like most things in life, harping on Game 5 for the players, managers, coaches or fans will accomplish nothing.  Nothing they can do can change the Game 5 score, but their actions can still create a pleasurable Game 6 score.

Everyone can practice successful life techniques with the Cardinals right now.
