Social Events of the Week: Mayor's Mardi Gras Ball, New York, New York and Mardi Gras Zoo-Style

Social events in Ladue, Forest Park, and downtown St. Louis will keep your social calendar full this week.

Editor's Note: Welcome to the "Social Whirl," a look at what is going on around town. We plan to keep you posted about events on the social scene and feature photographs and information from selected events. We will include events that are coming up soon as well as those that are scheduled for later in the year.

Metro St. Louis loves to socialize. It's even better to have fun when the cause is worth supporting. In fact, St. Louis regularly ranks among the top U.S. cities for charitable giving.

Each week Patch will highlight social and charity events to help you decide which one or ones you will attend and/or support.
