Love is Everywhere: So Many Choices for Valentines Day

East Side/West Side all around the town. Non-stop shopping for that special someone on Valentines Day 2013.

Patch got a head start on Valentines Day shopping. Here are some select items to pick from and where to shop in Creve Coeur, Kirkwood, Webster Groves, Olivette and Ladue. Get out there and get going.

Lou Knockel, Dierbergs Florist & Gifts in Creve Coeur

“Valentines is the busiest one-day holiday in the year. We get flowers from all over the world, some from California, some from Europe and some from South America. We are the largest FTD Florist in Missouri and we will ship out some 4,000 to 5,000 orders this Valentines Day.

Roses are the No.1 flower that we sell. We will go through about a quarter of a million stems. We have lots of fresh flower arrangements with spring flowers in them for everyone.”

Maryann Pretak, Ladue Florist and Gifts

“Of course we are very busy. This is the busiest time of the year for us. This has grown bigger than Easter for us. Everyone has to send flowers to their sweet heart for Valentines Day.

We have a lot of deliveries to make. We pray for no snow or ice. We deliver to a lot of places where people work so everyone will ooh and aah when they are delivered.”

Kali Summers, Fanniemay Candy, Ladue

“We have heart boxes full of candy. We have pixies which are Turtles. Our chocolate red rasberries are selling for $9.99 a pound. Then we will have chocolate covered strawberries today and Thursday. They are all hand dipped and we got together last night to do all of them.”

“Our locally-hand made jewelry is perfect for Valentines Day. We have an in store jeweler and she makes a lot of one-of-a kind pieces for your one-of-a-kind gal.

This spring we are showing a lot of fun colors. We feature lots of mint, coral combos. I personally think every one should have a Chambray Hop in their wardrobe.

And of course, Paisley carries super fabulous butter stick lotions too.

We mix fun with style for easy and comfort. And we’re known for fitting you in the perfect pair of jeans."

Krista Czarnik, Shane Company Jewelers, Olivette

“We have a variety of different items for Valentines Day in a variety of different colors, variety of styles and prices.

We have something to fit every woman for sure. What is hot now are heart shapes of color stones in sapphires; and a beautiful rainbow of colors. Red of course is perfect for Valentines Day.”

Rubies are big and pearls always make a great gift too.”

Sue Eastwood, Schnuck’s Floral Shop, Ladue

“Guys will come in here and buy anything to keep them out of the dog pound. That would be roses, balloons, candy, and chocolates.

They don’t have to buy a dozen roses. One long-stemmed rose is the sign of love, and that will do. Long stem red is our all-time favorite. Schnucks has 50 different types of roses and we do a lot of deliveries."
