Judge OKs Settlement in August Busch IV Lawsuit

The wrongful death lawsuit filed against the beer baron ends in a $1.75 million settlement

Former beer baron August Busch IV will pay $1.75 million in a settlement related to the death by accidental overdose of his girlfriend Adrienne Martin in his Huntleigh mansion in 2010.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a judge today approved the settlement in the case, filed in March 2011 by Martin's ex-husband on behalf of their young child Blake. Martin's parents were also parties to the suit.

The Post-Dispatch quoted a statement from Busch's attorney Maurice Graham, who said Busch's "concern was that Blake receive as much of the total settlement as possible" and that his client hopes to be "an important part of Blake's life."
