Besides Ladue, Where Does Forbes Say You Can 'Retire Rich'?

Is it surprising that Ladue is on Forbes' list? Are you surprised by where else is on the list?

Perhaps it's not surprise to find Ladue on Forbes magazine's list of the 25 Top Places To Retire Rich.

As the St. Louis Business Journal reported last week, the city boasts "a median household income of $155,000, Ladue’s typical home fetches $775,000, and 18 percent of its residents are of retirement age."

The communities did not appear to be ranked, only listed alphabetically.

As Forbes noted on its website about Ladue:

This close-in suburb just off St. Louis’ western flank is Missouri’s wealthiest town of any size. Median household income is $155,000 and a typical home fetches $775,000. Some 18% of its 8,500 residents are of retirement age. What began as a farming community named after a French immigrant who fought in the Revolutionary War evolved into a stately town of old homes and amenities like the 123-year-old St. Louis Country Club. The residence of many St. Louis-area movers and shakers, Ladue was the home of baseball great Stan Musial (above) when he died early this year at age 92.
